THEME

AI quality is getting attention worldwide. Anticipations that AI be used in applications such as autonomous driving and financial credit assessment, which, if go wrong, could cost or ruin people’s life, call for high-quality AI that warrants such critical responsibility. That recognition led to starting development of AI quality criteria and methodologies around the world.

The current situation provides Japan with an opportunity to lead and contribute to the international society because quality management has been one of its strengths for decades.

This symposium aims to gather AI practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to share views and experiences and discuss coordinated actions to be taken.

This symposium is a part of a project commissioned by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
